MCMAP

You can't just enter the Marines learn their fighting tactics and leave (that's why they have you sign contracts) but you can learn them on your own to a certain extent. The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) was designed in 2001 to prepare marines for unarmed combat situations. While some believe that the USMC has developed their own fighting style they have actually borrowed from popular martial arts programs from around the world. While their punches and throws resemble the Japanese style of Judo their kicks and sweeps are based on Korean Tae Kwon Do. Thai Boxing (something you might see in the MMA ring) is also heavily incorporated into the curriculum due to its efficiency per blow. So you can take the do it yourself approach or serve your country and enlist its your choice.
